Airfield is a non-protected FB, not main base. Technically its fair game to attack.

That is to attack the standing technique and people far out of range? In reality, a good approach, but for the game ugly.

As much as it sucks, its allowed.

Forward Bases aren't protected, only main bases.

Yes that is what we thought aswell. We just tried to give our team some sort of advantage by taking out the enemy CA so that Blufor can win a round against a heavily stacked Opfor team ;). But in the end we still lost :cry:

Then do not place machinery on the "forward base", which is half an hour reborn.

There is a SPAWN_LARGEFB for mission makers which can be used for firebases that don't switch sides and ARE protected. That airfield seems like a good case where such a firebase should be used. In this case I'd say it's not very nice, but not disallowed to do.

In any case it's always complicated... Should they let the helo take off first, while you turn around aiming at them and as soon as you fire your first round they can fire? Situations like that should in my opinion always be decided by game rules / mechanics in which TacBF does lack a bit in my opinion. I tried working on an alternative solution but couldn't get it to work properly (No firing in and out of base at all. Right now we could do that quite easily, but it'll be very bad for performance)

Very good to know, was wondering about that myself, knew i saw it on some missions but didnt know how to implement it.
