TacBF 3.24.1-(future 3.25.0) Change Log

With the release of v3.24.1 TacBF mod, here is the Changelog for it.

The final changelog will include all changes from 3.24.1 - 3.25.0 in future.
This update is not a public update, so it won't be on Armaholic, BIS, and similar places yet.

Change log 3.24.1:

    General:
  1. Added: New feature to determine who the current admin is.
  2. Added: The scoreboard (on `score` screen and `end game` screen) now shows who the active admin is!
  3. Fixed: The list of flags (on map and scoreboard) were sometimes not showing at all on some missions, with incorrectly linked main base zones.
  4. Fixed: 'AFK' status will hopefully work now on Scoreboard.
  5. Squad Radar: Changed: Optimisation: faster array fetching and processing. Less UI display overhead.
  6. Squad Radar: Fixed: Unconfirmed fix. Possibly fixed a bug where sometimes a nearby player does not have his icon appear on your squad radar, or sometimes even your icon.
  7. Fixed: Created substitution classes for most of the deleted @CUP_Terrain CWA_ classes. This allows unfixed TacBF missions to still be loaded for editing and run.

    Minor Changes:
  8. Added: Minor: Mission will now detect and warn about duplicated gameLogics, like "server_1", "server_2_1", "TB_logic_2", "TB_logic_1_1", etc.
  9. Added: Minor: Missions: "<FB>" tag for use in briefing files.
  10. Fixed: Minor: Prevent Arma 3 complaining about missing description for CfgWorlds classes, when world mod is not currently loaded.

    Dev coding changes: (not important to players, normally)
  11. Dev: Fixed: getScaledLocationFontSize had array index bug.
  12. Dev: re-enable GMG mounted weapon classes for cargo IDs list.
  13. Dev: Changed: Draw SP zone radius text smaller.
  14. Dev: Refactor only: Optimisation: isEqualType.
  15. Dev: Fixed: TB_processes_fnc_display was displaying last list record as blank data
  16. Dev: Changed: added some scriptName calls for spawn loops
  17. Dev: Fixed: all XML parsing errors in 'img' tags.

TacBF 3.24.2 Change Log

With the release of v3.24.2 TacBF mod, here is the Changelog for it.

This update is not a public update, so it will not be on Armaholic, BIS, and similar places yet.

Change log 3.24.2:

    Squad Radar:
  1. Fixed: Resizing the HUD via the Resize menu now works again.
  2. Changed: Optimisation: Squad HUD: improved performance by a few FPS.
  3. Fixed: fixed distance calculations to be more frequent and accurate, which makes icon positions update more smoothly.
  4. Changed: Refactoring. More minor optimisation.

    Admin:
  5. Added: Admin Spectator mode. Admin can view players on either side. Free camera mode was disabled.

    General:
  6. Fixed: Eden: Gear validation during Eden SP was showing non-errors for opposition team on screen and in ROE log.
  7. Changed: Carry: Fatigue is added while carrying.
  8. Changed: Carry: Walk mode is forced while carrying.
  9. Changed: suppression: values for suppression blur amount and recovery rates have been increased from approximately 30% to about 70% of their original values.
    Based on feedback which stated it was not very effective lately.

    Minor Changes:
  10. Changed: CUP: Preparing for removal of local versions of CUP_Launchers.
  11. Fixed: Mission settings: improved determination of default BasicAmmoBox to use for supported TacBF factions
  12. Fixed: Armaments: May have fixed init of boxes located at sides of Armaments Container, so that Actions and Menus work properly on them too. Unverified.
  13. Fixed: Cargo: `Construction Supplies Box` height offset on trailers/vehicles was floating 1m too high.
  14. Fixed: Trailers: fix floating trailers (for odd missions).
    In some odd missions which have trailer altitude set floating at about 2m above ground.
  15. Changed: Smoke: adjusted smoke config properties.

    Dev coding changes: (not important to players, normally)
  16. Dev: Changed: Coding: changed AAS_scoring from loop to PFH. Added functions.
  17. Dev: Changed: UI: increased height of Briefing HUD
  18. Dev: Optimised: UI: minor GPS RscMiniMap waitUntil improvements
  19. Dev: Optimised: Coding: optimised ICE_fnc_getFacingDir
  20. Dev: Fixed: HTML img width/height value quoting.

Change log 3.24.3:

    Performance Boost:
  1. Fixed: TB perFrameHandler: "turbo" there was unfinished delayedExecution code, resulting in all processes running every single frame.

    General:
  2. Changed: Uniforms: Re-added missing PAC Uniforms addon. (I don't know when this was removed or why. It is still referenced by missions.)
  3. Fixed: Upright MW: It now stays upright first time, even on slope.
  4. Fixed: Towing: Adjusted trailer towing offsets for vehicles: RHS
  5. Fixed: Carry: Respawn Dialog will now block attempted teleporting while carrying, to prevent exploit.
  6. Changed: Carry: modified icons and added more informative icons to "carry instructions" message.
  7. Fixed: Suppression: old script error found
  8. Changed: Eden: show all flags as "Location" names in 3D. Unverified.

    Minor Optimisation: (not important to players, normally)
  9. Optimisation: Replaced 100+ typeName calls with isEqualType;
  10. Changed: Debugs: Improved Processes List output formatting, sorting, etc. Also included SQS/FSM processes plus counts in list.
  11. Changed: TFAR HUD: minor optimisation

    Refactoring/Dev coding changes: (not important to players, normally)
  12. Changed: Major refactoring. Split all ice_gear scripts, which contained 100+ in-line functions, have been split up into separate script files, with renaming & headers added.
  13. Changed: Changed @CUP_Terrain (CWA_?) substitution classes, for most of the deleted terrain object classes, to work without CUP too.
      This is done by deriving their base classes from existing similar A3 classes. Eg: Camp_base is like Camping_base_F in A3.
      This allows unfixed TacBF missions, which still refer to these classes, to still be loaded for editing and run, even without @CUP_terrains_core.

Primary problems found, which were causing FPS drop & server instability were:
  • A couple files were mixed up with the upcoming v3.25.0 WIP code changes, which are incompatible for now.
  • Some excessive log outputs were removed.

Change log 3.24.9:

Summary:
Mostly code based (technical) fixes or improvements. There should be 2 noticeable changes:
- trailers menu is restored
- FPS might be more stable now & may have increased since recent updates. Fixed some initialisation sequences & methods.

New FPS related bug:
There appears to be a new recent bug relating to start-up sequence and methods, which may be the cause of recent low FPS rates & is complicated to adjust & to isolate affected scripts.
There may be more to fix in relation to this new bug, but it seems better so far compared to recent updates.
If you have a game across multiple missions, please advise observations.

Changelog:

    Script bug fixes & changes:
  1. Fixed: Trailers menu was missing (in last update)
  2. Fixed: Crew Names: nil '_x' variable bug
  3. Changed: Gear validation: Hide multiple messages "Item not listed..."
  4. Changed: Loadout: increase duration for: 'loadout' execution & 'TB_zoneVehiclesCount' init, from 60 to 120 seconds.
  5. Changed: Debug messages: Changed message "Error: TB_gear_fnc_getCurrentRole: null param or bad type: null..." to include 2 level stack trace, to help determine cause of message.
    It relates to TB_gear_fnc_hasMedicKit.
  6. Fixed: Roles dialog: nil '_row' variable bug
  7. Fixed: Vehicle respawn: Corrected MP event handler code, to prevent error message "ICE_fnc_vehicleRespawn_killed: Error: !isServer".
    It had no side-effect before anyway.


    Code changes relating to FPS improvements:
  8. Changed: Script start/exit tracking improved.
  9. Changed: Process start/stop time tracking improved.
  10. Changed: TrackMonitor: screen display improved.
  11. Changed: splashScreen: added tracking calls
  12. Changed: Init sequence: ICE_main_fnc_postinit moved from mission init.sqf (#include) to CfgFunctions postInit.
  13. Changed: CfgFunctions: .\detectObjects now uses functions.
  14. Changed: CfgFunctions: .\briefing now uses functions.
  15. Changed: CfgFunctions: .\ice_squadManagement\*.sqf now uses functions for a few core scripts.
  16. Changed: fast exec: Applied ICE_fnc_fastExecCode to various huge, slow functions, to speed up start-up.
    Eg: TB_briefing_fnc_addWeaponsSummary, TB_briefing_fnc_addVehiclesSummary, TB_gear_fnc_validateDefaultGearArrays, others.
